Blogging for Bliss

There is a wonderfully creative and vibrant community of exceptional bloggers in blogdom these days. If you are reading this, it's likely you already know that. There is something happening online today that you won't want to miss.  A new book Blogging for Bliss  by Tara Frey has gathered many of these talented women together between two covers. Today marks the launch of an online blog tour party hosted by Artsy Mama. Hit the link and on Kari's sidebar you'll see all the blogs on the tour. Also joining in the event are many newer bloggers who are just as passionate. Take some time to enjoy what these women are creating on their blogs.

Why do I blog for bliss? Because it gives me a wonderful way to visit with my customers 24 -7. Online it doesn't matter what time it is or how the weather is behaving. We have access to each other when it works for us to visit and interact. My business is built on making beautiful things to enhance women's lives. Over the years we have  grown and transitioned together. Daughters and granddaughters are joining us in our passions of making our homes and wardrobes feminine and lovely. I draw much of my inspiration from hearing about my customers lives, and how April Cornell products are a part of everyday. Blogging, being on Facebook and enjoying Twitter give me the opportunity to meet with other women I might not have otherwise met.

Why do you blog? Leave a comment and you'll be entered into a random number giveaway for a copy of the book. I'll post the winner on Friday. It's a busy week! Apron FEST '09 and the Blogging for Bliss tour fell on the same dates. Who says things are slow in August?

I've been blogging for almost two months, so I'm truly a beginner at this. I'm enjoying so many beautiful blogs online now that I never knew existed a couple of months ago. My eyes have been opened to a vast array of beauty as captured by the community of bloggers. Looking forward to following your blog now as well....

I had no idea you had a blog! I found you through a link on Kari's (artsymama)sidebar :-) One of my favourite set of Christmas ornaments was purchased at the April Cornell store in our local Mall a few years ago. It is a set of blown glass Woodland animals (I thought they looked like Tasha Tudor designs) :-) I think to answer your question, that's one of the reasons I love blogging ~ finding so many beautiful spots where creative women share their lives is inspirational to me!

I didn't know you had a blog, either. I've always loved your designs and fabrics!

I blog for fun, as a creative outlet, to keep faraway friends and family updated on our lives, and hopefully to inspire *a little bit* others the way I've been inspired by others' blogs.

Happy Blog Party Day! I'd love to win the book...

I am positively drooling over all of your merchandise :)

Blogging has become part of my existence because it allows me to express myself in a way that I can't do in spoken words. I love that it allows me to experience other's creativity (like you) and turn around and share! And I love the people. Nowhere in the world could you find such a group of friendly, caring and incredible people.

Thanks for blogging for bliss...cheers to the new book, and cheers to all of us! :)

Hi April, really glad I have found your blog. I really love your outlook about bringing daughters and granddaughters together in our passions to make our homes and wardrobes feminine and lovely.

I started my blog as a way to be accountable to myself and my readers in my pursuit of my dream to become a textile designer. The more I say it out loud or write it on my blog, the more real and achievable it starts to feel. It has also been an amazing experience to meet like-minded woman from all over the world to be able to inspire and support each other.

I am participating in the blogging for bliss party and have done a full post about my reasons for starting my blog although, the above sums it up.

I blog to fill an empty place that I had, with not many local friends to share my love of decorating, homemaking, thrifting, and creating. Plus, it motivates me to get my projects done -- so I'll have something to blog about! Thanks for asking, April. We still miss your store in Northpark Mall!

I blog to share a variety of things..about gardening, recipes, backyard chicken raising, making a house a home, and more. It gives me a bit of a creative writing outlet, and the added bonus is that some folks actually like stopping by to see what I'm up to, and I have really enjoyed making blogging friends along the way.

I love blogging! I am fairly new to it, but like you, I have met some of the most wonderful women (and a few men) through blogs and FB and twitter. I am a social media butterfly.
I would love to win a copy of the book, I just learned of it.
