Lovely Autumn Beauties

Today I cut a beautiful bouquet of autumn hydrangeas, their lovely heavy heads drooping to the ground in an extravagance of fragile beauty. Delicate and bountiful the petals traced with tiny lines, they are a plant version of a wise woman's face, with their journey from white to lime and finally old rose visible in each stem.
